If you have to upload your advert to Dubsat follow this Tutorial to compress your advert using Compressor. The settings I have used here have been recommended by Dubsat. ”MPEG2 files - MPEG 2 files can be provided as a single file containing the combined (multiplexed) video and audio or as separate audio and video files. Target encoding rate is 15mb, supplying a file encoded at 8mb or above produces good results. On average a 30 second commercial encoded as MPEG2 will be approximately 35mb. The audio in the program stream should also be MPEG encoded and not supplied as raw PCM.”

- Follow the Below Steps -

STEP 1 - Open Compressor and in the settings window click on the [+] drop down menu, “Create New Settings” button and choose MPEG2

STEP 2 - In the Inspector window Name the new Setting and add a Description. Next change the Extension from m2v to MPEG. In the Video Format tab Change the Video Format to PAL, Aspect Ratio to 16×9 and change the Field Dominance to Progressive. Click on the Quality tab.

STEP 3 – Click on the Quality tab and change the Mode to “Two Pass VBR Best”. Next change the Average Bit Rate to 15.0 and the Maximum Bit Rate to 18.0.

STEP 4 – Click on the Extras tab and tick the box next to Multiplexed MPEG-1/Layer 2 Audio. Next choose Program Stream.

In this Tutorial I will explain how to set up Compressor to compress video for Vimeo or Youtube. This tutorial focus on compressing for High Definition Video Widescreen (16×9)  however I have listed into the steps how you can change to make it your final compressed video Standard Definition.

- Follow the Below Steps -

STEP 1 - Open Compressor

STEP 2 - In the settings window Click on the [+] drop down menu, “Create New Settings” button and choose MPEG4

STEP 3 - In the Inspector window name the new settings and click on the “Encoder” button

Next you need to change the “Video Frame Rate” and “Video Bit Rate”

STEP 4 - Change the Frame Rate to 25 fps (PAL)

STEP 5 - Change the Bit Rate to High Variable Bit Rate (High VBR)

STEP 6 - Next click on the “Geometry” tab and here you need to change the frame size

STEP 7 - Change the Frame Size to 1280 x 720 for HD

Note if you want standard definition then choose 720 x 576. You could choose 320 x 240 but the quality will not be so great once uploaded to the internet

STEP 8 - Change the Pixel Aspect to Square

This will stop your 16×9 movie from squashing into 4×3 once its uploaded to Vimeo or Youtube
