I have put together a video to explain how to make a time lapse video using still images. This video covers tips from what Equipment is best to use, taking the Photos, Importing/ Exporting them to and from Quicktime 7 and Importing into Final Cut Pro. For this example I used a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon Timer Control TC 80N3 and a ND Filter, ND400
Its important to drag your shutter during the day if you want to create a smooth motion time lapse. Using a ND filter will allow the shutter to open for 1 second on average or less during the day, depending on your camera settings. This will make any movement blur and when you put the photos together to create the time lapse when each photo is displayed you will not see a jump effect between each photo, yet a smooth motion between movement.
